Our Story

More Than A Website Designer

I've always wanted to know how things work. Give me anything — a machine, a puzzle, a problem nobody's solved yet — and I want to take it apart and figure it out. That instinct started early. I grew up around mechanics; my grandfather owned a trucking company, and I spent a lot of my childhood in garages, at car shows with my dad, surrounded by tools and engines and things that needed fixing. I'd collect wood and rocks from outside and build whatever I could imagine in the garage — piecing things together with whatever nuts, bolts, screws, and nails I could find, turning scraps into homemade Father's Day gifts. I wasn't just around that world. I was always trying to understand it.

That need to figure things out didn't stay in the garage. One day, bored at the shop with my dad, I got into the alignment computer just to see what it would do — and somehow ended up playing Solitaire on a machine that was never supposed to do anything but run alignments. My dad asked how I did it. The next day, he turned the computer on at work, and the alignment screen was gone. Tech support had to come fix it. I was just a little kid, but it was the first real sign of what I'd be good at for the rest of my life.

When it came time for college, I didn't have a grand plan — I just asked my dad what I should do. He said “computers.” So I studied IT, and it turned out to be exactly the right fit, because that same instinct from the garage — pull it apart, figure out how it works — is exactly what the work needed. I think in numbers; I can add quickly and hold them in my head, and I've always loved puzzles, patterns, and anything with structure I could work out. That curiosity turned into a real career: tech support, head tech, internet engineer, sysadmin. I've spent years being the person on the other end of the support call — which means I know exactly where businesses get let down by the technology they depend on, because I was the one fixing it.

But figuring things out has never been the whole story for me. I'm also someone who cares — deeply. I give up my seat for someone who needs it more than I do. I give without expecting anything back, because I like bringing people joy. Somewhere along the way, those two parts of me — the mind that needs to understand how things work, and the heart that wants to take care of people — pointed toward the same thing: decades-old, family-run businesses deserve better than they're getting from the web and IT world.

That's why I started Galaxy & Anchor. I want to take businesses that have been quietly excellent for generations and help them become a name people recognize — without losing what made them real in the first place. Your story, your reputation, your people. I want to build your brand, support your technology, and actually be there — the way I wish someone had been there for the business my own family once ran.
